If you’re a fan of having year long “faux” greenery at your home but not into artificial plants, a great alternative is to decorate with preserved foliages & flowers. Preserving flowers can be just as easy as cutting the fresh flowers from the garden & hanging them in a cold & dark place upside-down until they’re ready to be displayed. A very good cut flower option is Hydrangea that’s easily available either at your local garden center or in the grocery stores.

A simply way to make dried cut flower arrangement is just snip them off the bud during late autumn & then leaving them out for a bit for the stem to dry before displaying them on a vase.

Freshly cut petered-out Hydrangea flowers from the garden.

After drying for a bit I tied the stems together & put them in the vase for a more compact look.

If you don’t have a flower garden or even flowering plants, a great alternative is to buy dried flowers & leaves from online shops. One of our favorite places to source those from is Amazon. Amazon not only has the widest selection of dried stems & flowers, but has various price points catering to different types of buyers.

Here’s some more inspiration in-case you needed it!

A wonderful arrangement of warm-toned flowers consisting of wildflowers like Amaranths, Echinops & palm leaves.

These bleached Fern leaves have been sourced from Afloral.

If bleached Fern is too much for you, opt for these preserved Boston Fern for a warmer, softer look.

We have a reel about dried flowers & where to source them from. You can check it out here.
